Today is #WorldMalariaDay.
World Malaria Day recognizes the global effort to reduce the burden of malaria and provides an opportunity to raise awareness and generate support for the fight to end this preventable and treatable disease.
This year, YEDI and @@WestfieldDevelopmentInitiative are organizing a free medical outreach at Omintuntun Youth Centre, Pako Field, Akowonjo, Lagos on Saturday, April 28, with a football tournament. The event is proudly sponsored by global energy giant – @ExxonMobil; and leading real estate development company – Locke International Consultancy Limited; with support from @Alimosho Local Government, Development Africa, @Emzor Pharmaceuticals, OL PHARM Nigeria Limited, Hacey’s Health Initiative, and the reigning Miss Nigeria – Miss Ehiguese Peace.
These 25 pictures below show how we #KickedAgainstMalaria last year with malaria drama, malaria information, free bed nets, malaria testing and treatment, light refreshment, etc. amidst interesting community tournament. Over 5,000 people have benefitted from this platform – using the convening power of football to mobilize communities towards important malaria prevention and treatment practices.
